About the Giuseppe Capitano : She let them believe she is an ornament
otherprojections, together with curator Francesca Cavallo, presents the first of a new series of artistic collaborations reimagining art in the context of habitation.
At our showroom in Islington Square, we are delighted to host for the first time in the UK a selection of works on paper by Giuseppe Capitano made with raw vegetable pigments.
Situated at the threshold between the incommensurable and the ornamental within plants, these iridescent drawings capture the artist efforts to explore the life cycles, oxidation and extinguishment of the plants growing around his trullo in Southern Italy, whilst paying homage to their ability to exist beyond any search for symbols, meanings and dialogues with them.
The exhibition is free and no booking is required, but please rsvp to the launch night on Thursday 2nd December 6-9pm : firstname.lastname@example.org.
