—KING’S HEAD THEATRE

Established in 1970, King’s Head Theatre was London's oldest pub theatre, housed in the back room of the King’s Head Pub for 53 years. Under Artistic Director Dan Crawford, it became known for nurturing new talent and hosting acclaimed productions. Renowned actors like Maureen Lipman and Hugh Grant graced its stage, while works by writers such as Tom Stoppard and Victoria Wood premiered here. After closing its doors in 2023, the theatre reopened at 116 Upper Street in 2024. With a joyful, irreverent, and LGBTQ+-focused artistic policy, King’s Head Theatre continues to showcase diverse performances across multiple genres in its two spaces.
